This will provide world-class music facilities - including a main concert hall designed for acoustic excellence, plus smaller halls and music school.

A dramatic glass front will give visitors superb views across the river to Newcastle. It will provide a new home for the Northern Sinfonia, the region's orchestra, and Folkworks, the agency which promotes traditional music, as well as hosting visiting orchestras and performers. It opens in 2002.
